la façade surmontée d'un fronton triangulaire centré d'un caducée reposant sur un entablement à rosaces et triglyphes, flanquée de pilastres cannelés et pastilles ; la partie supérieure ouvrant à deux vantaux découvrant six casiers, six tiroirs, un compartiment et un vantail ; la ceinture ouvrant à un tiroir à l'anglaise ; la partie inférieure ouvrant à deux vantaux, reposant sur des pieds en gaine ; sur une plinthe d'époque postérieure

Condition
The illustration is accurate, good overall condition despite the inevitable dents, scratches and marks due to the age and use.
They are four verticals shrinkage cracks on the lateral sides and two vertical ones on the upper front door
A small veneer area has to be restored on the lower front door
A small veneer piece is missing around an inner drawer
As stated in the catalogue description the lower plinth is later
The gilding is slightly to tarnished, ready to be displayed
Please note that this condition report was made on August 31th 2016 inside Robert de Balkany's hôtel rue de Varenne; this lot will be shipped to Sotheby's galleries before the exhibit and the sale
