Condition

Illustration is quite accurate. As said, it is partly period and has been reduced in height; the back has been redone. Good restored condition overall, despite the inevitable dents, scratches and marks due to handling. Brass and tortoiseshell marquetry with patched restorations, very few minor lifts, as well as some scattered stains or discolorations (not distracting). One chip with loss on the front between the glass panels. The ebonised plinth : some chips with loss and few lifts to brass lines. Gilt-bronze mounts slightly rubbed on the more exposed areas, as expected. Highly decorative, ready to be displayed.
