The complete portfolio, comprising 80 etchings with aquatint, drypoint and engraving printed in sepia, 1799, from the eleventh edition of 1929 made in the Escuela Nacional de Artes Gráficas for the Seville Exhibition, on heavy laid paper, some bearing the Joseph Guarro watermark with a portrait of Goya wearing a cap, loose (as issued), contained in the original green cloth-covered portfolio with marbled lining
Provenance
Acquired directly from the Seville Exhibition in 1929, thence by descent to the present owner.
Condition
With full margins, in good condition apart from some sheets with fox marks in the margins, plate 29 and 69 with fox marks at centre verso showing through slightly in image recto, occasional small thin spots (mainly in the margins), plate 20 with an unobtrusive brake along the plate mark, the deckle edges occasionally folded over, the binding with natural wear and tear at the edges of the spine.
