Etching, 1636, a good impression of the second state (of three), New Hollstein's second state (of four), with the horizontal scratch across Saskia's breast and the vertical scratch through Rembrandt's hand

Condition

With thread margins or trimmed to the platemark, in good condition, apart from a pale fox mark verso showing faintly through at left recto, a few minute fox marks elsewhere, a tiny nick at left of lower sheet edge extending 1mm into the subject, a narrow area of discoloration at left sheet edge verso, possibly associated with previous hinging, (remain of previous hinge at left edge verso), framed.
