The full sheet, printed to the edges, in good condition, a subtle inconsistency in the colours where they have been covered by a frame shows that they have attenuated slightly over time, paper discoloration in the unprinted areas (darkening towards the extreme sheet edges), uneven backboard-staining and small areas of skinning verso (probably associated with previous hinging), a small patch of unobtrusive creasing in the subject's forehead and another on his left eyelid (both only visible upon close inspection), a soft diagonal crease at the lower right corner of the sheet and a pressure mark towards the lower sheet edge, framed. (Remains of previous hinging at intervals on the sheet edges verso). (A hair trapped in the uppermost layer of ink in the background at right is inherent to the production and is not a condition defect).
