Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down. The sheet is affixed to the mount on the verso of all four corners and floating in the mount. The edges are deckled and slightly unevenly cut. There are several artist's pinholes: in each of the corners and along the upper edge. An 'Ingres' watermark is visible towards the upper left corner and lower left edge. The sheet is lightly time-stained with a faint old mat stain and a few faint scattered spots of foxing. Some minor creasing and handling marks along the extreme perimeter of the sheet and notably across the upper left corner. Two tiny tears to the edge of the sheet at upper centre and on the lower right edge. This work is in good overall condition.
