Condition
This early print, on semi-glossy paper, is in generally good condition. When examined closely under raking light, faint scuffs, scratches, indentations, and rubbing are visible overall. The slightest amount of silvering can be seen in the darkest areas of the print. There is some chipping along the upper edge of the print.
The photograph is mounted to slick board. Some soiling, minor darkening, and wear is visible on the front and reverse of the mount. The corners and edges are bumped. There are five small tape remnants along the upper and lower edges on the reverse.

Catalogue Note
Prints of this image are rare. Weston recorded only five prints of Fay in his negative log, now in the collection of the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson. Conger locates three prints in institutional collections: the Center for Creative Photography; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; and a Project Print at University of California, Santa Cruz.
