Description

  • pine, flatweave tapestry technique
  • Framed: One 51.5cm. high, 39cm. wide; other 52cm. high, 40cm. wide; 1ft. 8in., 1ft. 3in., and 1ft. 8in., 1ft. 3in.; Textile visible: one 41cm. high, 29cm. wide; other 42cm. high, 30cm. wide; 1ft. 4in., 11in. and 1ft. 4in., 11in. 
woven in wool and silk with vases of exuberant flowers, mounted within similar 18th century carved giltwood frames

Condition

Each panel and each frame is slightly different. Tapestry panels are faded in colour overall, but this does not detract from the attractive overall appearance. Original selvedges visible at sides, so woven as small panels. Frames with some chips. Very decorative lot. Small size and versatile to place.
