Description

  • 45cm diameter
each punchbowl body with deep rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot, enamelled in bright pink tones and gilt around the exterior with three layers of over-lapping lotus petals divided by three gilt quatrefoil panels enclosing floral sprays, the interior with a lotus pond medallion encircled by a foliate scroll at the rim, each circular stand similarly decorated with a lotus pond medallion encircled by large pink lotus lappets

Condition

This impressive pair of punchbowls and stands are in good condition with the exception of a circa 6cm. oval hairline bruise and associated small rim chip to one stand, a 1.5 x1cm., repaired flake to the underside of the rim, together with an associated 1cm., hairline rim crack to the same stand, and all four pieces with minor glaze firing imperfections, very minor rubbing to the iron-red and gilded decoration and light glaze scratches.
