London, Royal College of Art, The Imaginative Impulse: Julian Trevelyan 1910-1988, 27th October - 22nd November 1998, un-numbered exhibition, with exhibition catalogue published by the Bohun Gallery, Henley-on-Thames, illustrated p.113.

Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates slightly in places, but otherwise appears sound. There are some fine, isolated lines of craquelure in places, most apparent in the lower right corner. Towards the left side of the upper edge, at the extreme outer edge of the canvas, there is a spot of lifting to the paint, only visible upon very close inspection, and most likely as a result of frame abrasion. There is some light surface dirt and very small specks of matter in places to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some small spots of possible retouching to the extreme edges of the upper left corner. The work is presented in a simple wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
