Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates slightly, most apparent at the corners of the work. There is a tiny hole to the extreme edge of the canvas at the lower right corner. There is a slight push to the left edge above the pigeon's head. There are several areas of craquelure to the canvas most apparent at the extreme corners and edges of the canvas. There is some associated lifting and loss in the yellow pigment in the lower left quadrant and along the extreme edges of the canvas. There is a scratch to the upper edge at the right side and some further scratches at the extreme right edge. There is general surface dirt to the canvas. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light shows some fluorescence which appears to be in keeping with the artist's materials. The work is presented in a simple dark wooden frame. Please contact the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
