Original canvas. There are stretcher bar lines to the upper and lower edges of the work. The canvas undulates slightly. There is a push to the upper right quadrant of the work. There are a couple of spots of loss to the right edge. There is a horizontal scratch to the lower edge, and several further light scratches on and around the purple pigment at the upper edge. There is general surface dirt to the work with some spots of studio detritus to the paint surface. Subject to the above the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a simple wooden frame.
