Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates slightly in places, but otherwise appears sound. There are some scattered lines of craquelure across the work, with some small flecks of associated loss in places, including around the edges of the work. There is some slight rubbing to some of the tips of impasto in places. There is some light surface dirt to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals some scattered flecks of retouching, primarily to the path at the lower edge of the work, but with further flecks elsewhere. The work is float mounted and presented in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
