Les armes sont celles des familles de Vachon de Belmont-Briançon et Posuel de Verneaux pour Alfred de Vachon de Briançon, marquis de Belmont (1804-1857), chambellan de Napoléon III, député des Basses-Pyrénées, issu d'une ancienne famille du Dauphiné. Il épousa le 29 mai 1845 Marie Suzanne Posuel de Verneaux (1826-1891), issue d'une famille de robe de Lyon.
