Condition

The panel is uncradled, flat and stable. There is retouching to an old horizontal split, which runs the width of the painting around a third of the way from the upper margin. The paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very small and few minor retouchings scattered in the sky, and a larger area of wash retouching in the sky, left, measuring approx. 15 x 5 cm. In overall very good condition.
