Condition

Overall the condition of the cross is good, with minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. The cross is composed of sections, and the joint with the base, as well as the central joint, are slightly loose but stable; the cross leans back slightly on the base. There are several naturally occurring inclusions to the rock crystal. There are also a few minor chips, notably to the bottom end of the left arm, to the base at the front, and to one of the bottom corners of the base. There are a few minor nicks and scratches, including to the bottom arm of the cross. There is minor warping to the metal mounts, as well as some staining. There is a 'door' on one side of the centre of the cross where a relic would have been placed.
