Condition

Overall the condition of the metal is good, with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is a loss to the bottom edge of the flap with the star shape, and another loss to the bottom of the flask. There are a few more minor losses and fissures, including to the band on the sides and to the edge of the cover at the front, and to one of the sides. There is a loss to the bottom of the inner wall, which is only visible when the cover is opened. There is minor corrosion to the iron throughout. There are several nicks and a few dents.
