Condition

There is a restored hairline crack to the rim which becomes visible under a UV light, the crack extends partly around the well of the dish. The dish has been sprayed which is starting to flakes but which shows the dish to be in good condition underneath.

A dish painted with the same armorial is in the collection of the Kunst Gewerbe Museum in Hamburg, published in the catalogue (op. cit., 1984, no. 57) whilst further armorial dishes of this type are published by Giacomotti, (op. cit., nos. 295-300).
