Condition
Overall the condition of the marble is good with wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is some weathering to the surface consistent with placement outdoors. There is a small area of stable hairline fissures to the 'nose' at the bottom. There are a few losses including to the scroll on the bottom right, to the left edge below the scroll at the top and to the nose of the woman. There are chips and abrasions to the high points throughout notably to all the scrolls and the bottom right corner. There are a few areas of brownish discolouration to the marble, which are probably the results of naturally occurring inclusions. There are several dirt marks and particular dirt in the crevices. There is a square hole at the top at the back.
The wood stand is in good condition with some dirt and wear including minor stable splitting to the wood. There is a small loss to the wood above one of the feet. There are four loose wedges with which the marble is held in place.
