Condition
The panel is uncradled, and very slightly bowed towards upper and lower margins. The paint surface is slightly dirty and the varnish is slightly discoloured. The paint surface is tenting upper left in the foliage, and in a few very small areas centre left, above the traveller, centre, and centre right. There are small areas of slightly discoloured retouching to losses in the sky, upper centre, and in the foliage, upper left and right - the largest of these measures approx. 2cm. across. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals these patches, as well as some retouching to the tree trunk, centre left, and the roof, centre right, along with some older strengthening to the clouds, upper centre. Notwithstanding these interventions, the painting is in overall good condition.
