Condition

The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals spot retouching in the upper left quarter, largely to disguise the appearance of the fine network of craquelure. There is also retouching throughout the boy's dress. His face is mostly free of intervention, except for some pinprick retouchings around his mouth and chin. In overall good condition.
