Condition

A nymph and a cupid dragging a satyr: Hinged to the mount at the upper margin. Overall in fairly good condition. Few light brown stains, mainly in the upper section of the sheet. A few small creases in the paper. Red chalk remains strong and vibrant. Warrior: Hinged to the mount. Light grey stains scattered throughout the sheet, more visible under the warrior's face. Otherwise red chalk is strong.

Catalogue Note

This drawing is sold with another study by Cipriani of a warrior, after an antique relief, in red chalk on light grey washed paper.  Both drawings were gifts to Michael Ingram from his uncle, Sir Bruce, and come from an album of drawings by Cipriani formerly in his collection.
