Condition

Partially laid down. Staining in the upper right corner. A circular brown stain in the centre of the sheet and another smaller one in the centre towards the upper margin. Light scattered foxing throughout and some surface dirt. Pen and ink and wash remains strong and vibrant.

Catalogue Note

The present drawing is related to a group of carriage designs previously attributed to Giovanni Paolo Schor, but now generally regarded as being by Giovanni Battista Lenardi.  The largest group of designs of carriages by this hand are held in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle.1
