Description

  • walnut
each with an arched padded back above straight padded arms and serpentine seat on cabriole legs joined by an X-form stretcher centred by a neo-classical finial on scrolled feet

Sebastian Schutze, Palazzo Sacchetti, Rome, 2003, one is illustrated p. 110, in the Stanza di Tobia.

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Joints sound and sturdy. Old very minor marks, chips and scratches commensurate with age and normal usage. The finials on the stretchers appear to be later and one finial is missing but this can easily be replaced.
