Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few nicks, including to the rim of the helmet above the forehead, a light surface scratch to the proper right thigh, and areas of scratches to the bottom folds of the cloak at the back. There is minor rubbing to the patina at some of the high points. There are a few areas of dark spotting, including to the proper right arm and to the collar of the cloak at the back. There is some minor staining and rubbing to the base. There are two labels to the underside inscribed respectively: Feudalmuseum Schloss Wernigerode Staatliches Museum, and: PIII Schö.22
