Description

  • walnut and beechwood
each chair with a rectangular open back, tapering splat with a portrait medallion above a later straw seat on square tapering legs joined by a H-form stretcher, the frame decorated with foliage, together with a later neo-classical armchair, 20th century

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. The back of one chair is slightly wobbly. All the chairs are dirty and would benefit from a light clean. There are some minor chips and losses to the painted decoration which has flaked off especially on the stretchers and can be easily touched up Old restorations generally and construction cracks at joints which is normal. Some retouching to the paintings on the chairs.
