Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There is some very fine craquelure throughout the composition, and a small 1 by 0.5cm tear in a background pillar towards the lower right. Ultra-violet light reveals signs of retouching in the lower left corner and in the vault in the background in the upper right quadrant. The picture is in otherwise good condition.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame. Please note there is active woodworm in the frame which is being treated by Sotheby's.
