three, Nicolaes Verhaer, Utrecht, 1738-39, two, Dirk van Gameren, Utrecht, 1750, and three, Jan Diederik Pont, Amsterdam, 1733, the waisted panelled sconces all with strap-work and drop embellishment, the similarly decorated waisted columns further embellished with shells and scrolls, each raised on a shaped circular base pierced with shells, on four foliate embellished scrolling feet, three engraved to the underside 'A:M:OEM', the other two Utrecht examples engraved, 'H.W.S'

Condition

Four of the eight do not sit completely flat on an even surface. One of these wobbles significantly. This example with split to casting to one foot, probably in manufacture. Two of the candlesticks with sections deliberately cut out of the rim of the nozzles. Two others lean to one side at the columns. Most with clear marks to underside. All of very good gauge and pleasing to hold. The surface with a matted finish. Surface scratching. The high points are still crisp. Nice examples.
