  • Two Royal portrait medallions, French, circa 1780 and circa 1830
  • gilt metal, porcelain, glass, lacquer
the first, a circular glass medallion, representing Louis XVI, and inscribed 'Ludovicus XVI Franc. et Navarrae Rex', circa 1780,in gilt-metal frame, 9cm., 3 1/2 in diameter ; the second, a jasperware medallion of Louis-Philippe, King of the French, circa 1840, in gilt-metal frame, 11.7cm., 4 5/8 in diameter ; and a medallion containing an oval section of a Chinese lacquer panel, Chinese characters on the reverse, circa 1780, in a gilt-metal frame with suspension loop, 8.5cm., 3 3/8 in high

overall good condition of the first two medallions, the third one with losses to gilding.
