Description
- Large Imperial Presentation courier map of Emporer Franz Joseph I of Austria
- leather, brass
- Presentation case: 48cm. high, 52cm. wide; 19in., 20½ in. Kuriermappe: 41cm. high, 38cm. wide; 16in., 15in.
in black leather, inscribed on the front “J. Weidemann, Wien I, Babenbergstraße 7” in gold lettering, the key’s are engraved with the emperor’s monogram “FJ” in laurel wreath and “Viribus Unitis”, together with a pair of small black leather caskets with an embossed Emperor’s monogram, yellow silk lining embossed with “Jauner, K.K. Hof & Kammer Graveur” below the double-headed eagle, gold embossed signet on paper. All in an original leather casket, the lid with an enamelled monogram of the Emperor, with yellow silk lining

Condition
In overall good condition. The leather box with marks and scratches consistent with age and use, whilst the imperial enamel cypher in good condition.
The varnished leather inner folder in excellent condition with its three original keys, with very minor wear to bottom corner edges. The silk lining in very good condition (stamped Weidman, Vienna) and inscribed with inventory br F.186. Black silk band inside torn.
