  • Silver, Wood, Glass
all engraved with the crowned 'M' for Princess Maria of Bavaria, comprising: a pair of German 18th century style candlesticks, crown and crescent mark, swirling knopped baluster form, 19.1cm., 7 1/2in. high, a matched chamberstick, 11.3cm, 4 1/2 in. high, a cup and bowl, Eduard Wollenweber, Munich, decorated with swirling fluted and scrolls, bowl 13.9cm., 4 1/2in. diameter, three graduating silver mounted rectangular cut-glass boxes and two circular silver mounted toilet jars, Cohen & Charles, Chester 1895, embossed with swirling flutes, longest 22.9cm., 9in. long, a silver mounted dressing table mirror, same date and maker, with red leather back and stand, 30.8cm., 12 1/2 in., together with a matched scent bottle, hair brush, clothes brush and mirror, Birmingham 1891-95, scent bottle 14cm., 5 1/2 in. high., all in a fitted wooden case

Condition

Composite pieces in various conditions. The hand mirror with deteriorating sediment behind the mirror (rattling), significant dent to top and further pin-head bruises. The longest rectangular toilet box (shallow) is ill fitting. The shorter rectangular toilet box with split to edge of cover running down length of side. The dressing table mirror with some mercury losses and may need to be replaced. The other pieces all well marked and in good condition commensurate with age. The wooden case with a large split across the width of the cover.
