Princess Maria Ludwiga Theresia (1872 - 1954) and Princess Adelgunde of Bavaria (1870 - 1958) (possibly gift of their grandmother Elisabeth Franziska Maria, Archduchess of Austria, 1831 - 1903)
Condition
(i) The board is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There is some minor rubbing along the upper edge. Ultra-violet light reveals some minor spots of retouching along the framing edges, in the trees in the background below the arch and in the tree towards the centre left of the composition. Very minor scattered spotting is also visible under UV light throughout the composition. The work is in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
(ii) The board is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There is some minor rubbing notably along the upper and right edges. Ultra-violet light reveals some scattered minor spots of retouching, notably along the right and lower framing edges. Very minor scattered spotting is also visible under UV light throughout the composition. The work is in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
