Catalogue Note
This substantial collection of photographs comprises portraits of European royalties, such as Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth of Austria, Wilhelm Prince of Prussia (later Emperor William II) and Queen Victoria, as well as portraits of members of many important German and Austro-Hungarian noble families. It provides a fascinating overview of Central European royal attire, uniforms and pageantry in the second half of the 19th century.
