Condition
The canvas has been relined, the paint surface is rather dirty with many accretions, and the varnish is slightly discoloured, but the painting is in overall fair condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light is hampered slightly by a milky varnish, but reveals minor retouching to all four margins and notably in the upper right corner. There are also two small areas of retouching to the right of the Virgin's head. The metal crowns are slightly loose.
