each with a stylised scallopshell cresting above a rectangular divided plate engraved with foliage and scrolls issuing two gilded metal candelarms, the frame carved with flowers and leaves; formerly fitted for electricity
Condition
In overall country house condition. They are very dirty and would benefit from a clean. Old marks, chips and scratches. There are gaps in between the divided plates, two of which are broken on two different mirrors and another mirror in particular has a large section missing which can easily be replaced. The apron on one has a break which can easily be restored and there is a minor loss to the giltwood to the same area. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. One of the mirrors has a red wax seal on the reverse which is illegible and a break in the apron which has been restored in the past but which is opening up again. Minor losses to carving.
