Description
- giltwood, ebony, Rosewood, Brazilian (Dalbergia nigra)
- 9cm. high, 20cm. wide, 14cm. deep; 3½in., 7¾in., 5½in.
of octagonal form with three frieze drawers on paw feet, the textile top worked with polychrome silk flowers and metal-thread bows around the edge, and linked with tiny metal-bead swags, the centre with a metal-thread cypher, on silk ground (largely lost and revealing linen underneath); top distressed and stained
Condition
In overall good condition. There is a minor loss to the ebony banding to the frieze but this is not too noticeable. There are old glue repairs beneath the feet. Some scattered age cracks commensurate with age and normal usage.
