Description
- Gilt-bronze, Rosewood, Turtle, Hawksbill Sea (Eretmochelys imbricata), oak
- 16cm. high, 50cm. wide, 34cm. deep; 6¼in., 1ft. 7¾in., 1ft. 1½in.
the rectangular top with a gadrooned border centred by the figure of Diana flanked by Berainesque motifs and scrolling foliage, the lower section with a concave frieze above strapwork centred by scrolling foliate mounts with an acanthus scroll at the angles, on toupie feet
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. The casket is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Old very minor restorations and replacements to inlay which have been well executed and are hardly noticeable apart from some of the brass which is slightly darker in colour than the rest.
