Arnhem: Joannes Jansonius, for Dirck Pietersz, 1609, engraved illustrations by Jan Wiericx, with final blank leaf -- 2 works in one volume, 4to (191 x 145mm.), old vellum with new endleaves and ties, lettered in manuscript on spine, a few deckle edges, a few early manuscript annotations, old flyleaves loose at front (small stain on verso of first title-page)

Catalogue Note

Lubbaeus's book was based on Dirk Coornhert's Dutch translation and expansion of Bernard Furmer's book on the abuse of riches, "De usu et abusu" (Antwerp, 1575). The fine engravings by Wiericx appeared in these earlier editions.
