Catalogue Note

Originally published in 1794, Karamzin's "trifles" are a reflection of his status as a sentimental writer, in the manner of Laurence Sterne. A quotation in English from Alexander Pope appears on the title-page.

Christopher Claudia and Christian RĂ¼diger leased the Moscow University Press from 1794 to 1801.
