the letter by Grosz to Dr. Sinzheimer, sending him 9 leaves [of his work], hoping that there will something suitable there, stating that he cannot accept any fee below 100 Marks, regardless of how small the reproduction will be, questioning the small size of his reproductions, stating that he believes him to be too conservative and that he is of the opinion that his drawings only profit from larger reproductions; the Nolde letter to Heinrich Kirchhoff, a lively communication enquiring why they have never seen him in Berlin, observing freely that Germany is no longer a country of thieves where one cannot go for a walk in peace, even with a small embonpoint, enquiring anxiously about the prospects for Dr. Schardt, stating how both are looking forward to the spring, describing their rich and varied life, informing him that her dear painter is very well, so long as they live sensibly and do not drink any wine, enthusing about Rheingau wine, although admitting that one can live without it, mentioning that they will be going to see the dancer Palucca, and referring to the death in Egypt of Frau Fischer and other matters
