Catalogue Note
This quotation diverges from the published scores: the words "bimbo mio dormi" do indeed appear in the text for this lullaby, but not with the opening melody, as here. In both the original and revised versions of Madama Butterfly, this tune sets the words "Dormi amor mio, dormi sul mio cor"
