Catalogue Note
This is a dramatic-looking composing manuscript by Pizzetti, replete with his reworkings written on additional pages and slips of paper pasted into the score. It is Pizzetti's only published piano trio, first performed in Paris by the composer himself with George Enesco and Hans Kindler on 23 May 1925. It was dedicated to Pizzetti's second wife Irene ("Rirì"). Gatti & Waterhouse refer to the lyrico-dramatic manner of Pizzetti's work, reflecting the style found in his more than twenty operas.
