Catalogue Note

UNCOMMON.

Heller's 25 Etudes were published by Schlesinger in Berlin in 1844; the opus is among his most accomplished didactic works and one of the few still in print. The dedicatee, Jenny Montgolfier, was a piano teacher in Lyon, who, although she never met the composer, was a notable champion of his music.
