Royal folio (404 x 280mm.), 394 leaves, [a10 b11 c-d10 e-h8.10 i-k8 l10 m9 n11 o10 p6 q8 r10 s6 t10 u6 x8 y-z A-H10 I8 K-R10 S8 T11], double column, 52 lines plus headline, 3- and 4-line woodcut lombard initials, some with hand-colour, 2 10-line initials (one in pink, one in green) on a gold ground with leafy marginal extensions into three sides, traces of manuscript quiring, an additional phrase supplied in manuscript on [y]8r, nineteenth-century smooth dark brown calf over bevelled wooden boards, tooled in period style, with Lothian arms on upper cover, some deckle edges, water-damaged at beginning at foot (affecting illumination at start of first section), upper cover (together with first leaf) detached, [m]7 with margins repaired, a few small stains, a few wormholes in last few leaves, binding rubbed

EDITIO PRINCEPS, A LARGE CRISP COPY with contemporary south German illumination. The sermons are divided into summer and winter.

These sermons used to be attributed to Conradus de Brundelsheim, a Cistercian from Heilsbronn who died in 1321, or to Johannes Bott of Marienrode, also a Cistercian.
