Catalogue Note

EDITIONES PRINCIPES of this group of writings on oratory, including two treatises by Aristotle, the Poetics and Rhetoric, not included in the multi-volume Aldine edition. Many of the texts included in these volumes came from the library of Janus Lascaris, to whom the first volume is dedicated; he spent the years 1503-1509 as French envoy to Venice.
