Condition

Original canvas. The canvas undulates very slightly in places, but otherwise appears sound. There are pinholes apparent at the upper and lower left corners, thought to be in keeping with the artist's technique, and with one or two associated specks of loss in the lower left corner. There is a very small area of loss to the green pigment near the left vertical edge, with one or two extremely tiny lines of associated craquelure, and some lifting. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in excellent overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an area of fluorescence in the upper left corner, which is thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. The work is presented in a painted wooden frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
