Condition

Original canvas with a very thick weave. The canvas undulates, and there is a small hole and some associated discolouration at the centre of the right vertical edge and some uneveness to weave in places. There are some very small lines of craquelure in places, most apparent but not exclusive to the white shape in the lower right quadrant. There is some minor rubbing to some of the tips of the impasto in places. There are several small losses to the pigment, most apparent in the lower left and right corners, with one or two extremely tiny losses elsewhere. There is some light surface dirt and studio detritus in places. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is presented in a painted wooden frame.
