Condition

The sheet is attached to the mount with tape along the upper horizontal edge. The sheet undulates slightly but otherwise appears sound. The right, left and lower edges of the sheet are deckled. There are several pinholes in each of the upper corners, thought to be in keeping with the artist's working method. There is some craquelure in places, most apparent to but not limited to the black pigment, which has resulted in some cupping, lifting and very small flecks of loss in places. There is a small horizontal crease and a vertical area of staining in the lower right corner, both of which are only visible when viewed out of the frame. There is some slight discolouration to the sheet, only apparent when viewed unframed. There is a small loss to the surface of the sheet underneath the mount towards the upper right edge. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in good overall condition, with bright and vivid colours throughout. The work is presented in a fabric-covered window mount, held under glass in a simple gilt frame.
