Condition

Original canvas. There is very minor undulation to the canvas. There is an unevenness to the white pigment which, in some extremely fine instances, has resulted in some tiny flecks of craquelure. There is a very small pressure mark to the bottom of the red crescent on the right hand side of the composition, a small scratch to the red in the bottom right quadrant and a further small scuff in the upper centre of the work. There is some rubbing apparent to the extreme edges of the canvas in places, most apparent at the right and lower edges. There is some light surface dirt to the work, most apparent to the black pigment, and some traces of studio detritus visible upon close inspection. This excepting the work appears in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence, which are thought to be in keeping with the artist's materials. Unframed.
