Provenance

Dölf Amacker went to India around 1948, shortly after independence and worked there as a young engineer. This work was acquired during his stay, between 1948 and 1961.

Condition

There are water stains visible throughout and hairline cracquelure in the thicker paint, most noticeably on the brown pot on the left. There is loss to the board and other small creases present, particularly around the upper edges of the work but only visible upon close scrutiny. Minor spots of paint loss have been consolidated, as viewed.
